How does the Life Legacy process work?
Firstly, consider which package works best for you and which optional extras you would like to include (supportive audio file, unlimited revisions, etc...)
Once selected, head to the order page and complete your order, ensuring you have included your email address.
Within 24 hours, you will receive an email with the Questionnaire for your relevant order. Populate the requested content and return the completed form to Life Legacy via email (Natalie@LifeLegacyLines.com).
Your bespoke Life Legacy will be delivered to you by email within ten working days.
If you require any edits, please email these requests to be made and these will be delivered within a further five working days.
How do I provide content for my Life Legacy order?
When you place an order, you will receive an email within 24 hours with a questionnaire attached (from Natalie@LifeLegacyLines.com). Please check your spam folder just in case! This questionnaire will prompt all of the content required to write your Life Legacy. Feel free to include content which is provided as 'background' - if you don't want this detail to feature in your completed piece, please just note on these parts as 'For Information Only'.
Please complete the questionnaire and submit this by email (to Natalie@LifeLegacyLines.com). Your Life Legacy will be delivered within ten working days from receipt of your populated questionnaire submission.
The Life Legacy is a gift for somebody else - how do I obtain all of the information?
The Questionnaire aspect of the process is often said to be a really enjoyable experience and it can be populated in many various ways - each approach has it's own special qualities.
You may know the Recipient well enough to fill it out completely by yourself and wish to present it to them as a surprise - if there are any requests for information that you just don't know, feel free to leave these blank (unless they feel crucial to the content). Equally, if you feel that a certain field isn't relevant, you can leave this blank too.
You may wish to share this project with the Recipient - in this case, you can sit with the Recipient and conduct a fun interview, or chat through it together. Clients often comment that this is the most special part of the process - memories that have been long-forgotten are brought to the surface and the reminiscence is a cathartic and heart-warming experience. However you choose to approach it, the questionnaire is designed to prompt happy memories and poignant reflections.
What format do you deliver in?
Your order will be digitally delivered by email (from Natalie@LifeLegacyLines.com) - no content will be physically sent to you. The delivery will be in Word format so that you can edit if you want to and print off for ease of reference. I will send an audio voice recording to guide you on expression of the poem for Life Legacy Poetry options and this is an optional extra for Speeches and Milestone Poetry.
Can you help with how to express the poem / speech?
Delivery can entirely change the intention behind your words (with poetry, especially). It is crucial that the rhythm and pace is understood and articulated accordingly. To support you in achieving this, I can provide an audio file (of myself reading the speech / poem) to guide you on timing and tempo. This is included in the Life Legacy Poetry options and is an optional extra for Speeches and Milestone Poetry.
How soon will my Life Legacy be ready?
You will be emailed your Life Legacy delivery within ten working days from the time that you submit your completed questionnaire. If you need your Life Legacy for a particular date, please communicate this to me before you order and I will try to prioritise your order to ensure it is completed in time. This is subject to many variable factors (including work capacity and turnaround time required) and must be discussed prior to your order being placed.
What does the 'Audio File' contain?
The Audio File is a reading of the delivered poem or speech to demonstrate the way in which the Writer intended it to be expressed. Of course, you can perform the content in any way you choose, but the audio file is there to help guide you on the rhythm, pace and expression.
Should I opt for 'Unlimited Revisions'?
This is a really personal choice. Most Clients are happy with their first delivery but may like to make a few minor tweaks - this is why one edit is included in the package price for each product. If you know that you are quite particular about how you want the Life Legacy to sound and would like the opportunity to influence the piece as it evolves, the Unlimited Revisions option may be best for you. Please note that Revisions are changes to the existing piece as opposed to complete rewrites.
How long are the Speeches and Poems?
The length of the delivery depends heavily upon how much information you have provided in your questionnaire. If you have only submitted brief detail, your content will be shorter - we will not fill up with generic fodder as your Life Legacy is bespoke.
Speeches and Poems are always richer when greater depth of information and intriguing stories have been communicated through from the Client.
Generally speaking, a speech will be between 3-6 minutes; a Life Legacy Poem will be approximately 2 to 3 A4-pages of verse and a Milestone Poem will be approximately 5-6 verses long.
I need a slightly different piece of writing - can you help?
Whilst 'Life Legacy' focuses on life stories, eulogies and milestone poems, I would be happy to produce other speech / poetry requests. This could be anything from a Best Man's Wedding Speech to a sentimental letter to a dear friend - or anything in-between. Will you work with any content provided?
Please note that Life Legacy will not produce any content inciting hate or messages with offensive expletives, foul language nor messages of an erotic nature. Life Legacy retains the right to respectfully decline work that compromises the kind and gentle intentions of the Author.
How can I use your work?
Life Legacy is production of personal work and to align with this ethic, work produced by Life Legacy must not be sold on to secondary parties. Other than that - you can speak it aloud, write it in a card, print it for a frame, craft it into song lyrics - the Life Legacy is yours; get creative!
Will the detail I provide to you be kept confidential?
Absolutely! A Life Legacy is your story to tell (or the story of your Recipient) and I am a true believer that this is a totally private experience. I have a Client who posted their Life Legacy all over social media and another who kept it in a private drawer 'as a treat' to read to herself every now and again. However the Recipient wishes their story to be shared or otherwise, is entirely their call. Our company will not share any detail you provide.
How can I be sure you will produce work I am happy with?
Every piece produced is entirely unique. There are no 'generic' phrases taken from Google searches; your commissioned life story will be crafted to align with the sentiments that are expressed in the questionnaire. I have been writing wedding speeches, eulogies and bespoke poetry for many years and coach clients on the best way to express the creative pieces. I am also a Novelist and so am accustomed to writing in character voices, which gives me the advantage of being able to articulate your very personal recollections in a familiar and tender manner.
